DESCRIPTION:The contribution will introduce main research topics related t
 o global and regional climate modelling that are looked into at the Depart
 ment of Atmospheric Physics. Attention will be paid mainly to two themes: 
 climate classifications and uncertainties in model outputs. In the first p
 art of the presentation recent results regarding the validation of CMIP5 G
 CMs and EuroCORDEX RCMs using Koeppen-Trewartha climate classification wil
 l be shown\, as well as projected changes of climate types during the 21st
  century. \nIn the second part several issues related to analysis of uncer
 tainties in regional climate model outputs will be discussed. A modern app
 roach of evaluation of influence of driving data on the nested simulation 
 based on functional data analysis will be introduced.
