DESCRIPTION:The impacts of climate change and the costs of mitigation fall
  on individuals across different socioeconomic groups and on countries at 
 various stages of development. In a sequence of papers\, we compute optima
 l climate policy in integrated assessment models that take this heterogene
 ity seriously. Across countries the different capacities imply different m
 itigation rates\, carbon prices\, and decarbonization dates. Within countr
 ies investigate the importance of the perceived regressive nature of carbo
 n prices on poverty and social welfare and compute the implications of pro
 gressive distribution of revenues within countries to alleviate such conce
